Stig is the Norwegian Armed Forces Military Liaison to the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association. He is  point of contact towards the military on emergency preparedness, security and incidents. He is also part of the Norwegian Armed Forces Defence Staff with responsibility for arms controls treaties through the OCSE and NATO.  

Stig served in the same role as Military Liaison to the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association from 2017 to 2020. He has 35 years’ experience from the Armed Forces in both leadership and operational roles within all defence branches both at home and overseas. His most recent overseas posting was as Defence Attaché in Mali in 2021.  

Stig has a Bachelor in Leadership and Military Studies from the Norwegian Defence University College and a Master in Conflict, Crisis and Cultural Understanding from the University of Tromsø. He attended the Armed Forces Staff College in 2013.
