Tor Arne holds the position as  Director, Maritime Preparedness in the Security and Contingency Planning Department at the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association. He is a theologian and has background as a military chaplain with the Norwegian Armed Forces. He has served in various positions in the Norwegian Armed Forces and has experience from international military operations.

Tor Arne has a PhD focusing on the civil war in northern Uganda and has worked as a researcher and associate professor at the Norwegian Defence University College. He has also participated in peace talks and ceasefire negotiations.
